Tulsa defense praised after scrimmage
TULSA, Okla. (AP) - University of Tulsa football coach Bill Blankenship praised the Golden Hurricane defense following a scrimmage.
Blankenship says Saturday's scrimmage was physical and that the defense dominated among the first two units.
The Tulsa offense didn't score until the eighth possession when freshman quarterback Ryan Rubley connected with Zach Epps for a 45-yard touchdown pass and kicker Carl Salazar later converted a 32-yard field goal.
The offenses also added two late scores when redshirt freshman Dane Evans completed a 54-yard touchdown pass to Josh Atkinson and freshman Rowdy Simon scored on a 3-yard touchdown run.
TU will return to practice Monday after a day off Sunday.
