Suspect Arrested in Midtown Double Shooting

CREATED Aug 19, 2014

TULSA (KTUL) Tulsa Police received a call about a double shooting in the 4700 block of South Darlington, Monday afternoon.

First responders arrived and found a 22-year-old female and a 21-year-old male shot. EMSA and Tulsa Fire Department worked on the victims, then EMSA transported both victims to St. Francis.

The male has been pronounced dead at St. Francis, while the female is still alive.

Due to numerous witness reports that were provided to the responding officers a suspect was identified and a suspect vehicle was determined to be a gold Honda CRV.

Detectives, patrol and crime analysts worked on the suspect's name given and determined that there was another location for the suspect's family in Jenks.

Jenks Police Department sent officers to a location in the 700 block of S Gum Street. Quickly they reportedly were joined by members of the Northern Oklahoma Violent Crimes Task Force and surveillance was maintained on the residence.

Detectives determined that there was enough evidence to arrest 22-year-old Isaac Ashton.

"Patience paid off as Ashton called an unsuspecting family member to give him a ride from the Gum address," says Sgt. Walker. "The Jenks Police and Agents with the Northern Oklahoma Violent Crimes Task Force stopped the vehicle and arrested Ashton without incident."

Interviews were conducted and search warrants were prepared with the assistance of the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office. There is reportedly enough evidence collected to arrest Ashton for two counts of First Degree Murder.
