OKLAHOMA CITY (KFAQ) - A petition drive is underway that could lead to a vote on whether every school district in the state should have a storm shelter.
Many lawmakers question where the money would come from, but that isn't stopping the petition effort.
The push started following the deadly tornado outbreak in May.
Representative Joe Dorman is leading efforts to move money from the state franchise tax to help pay for the shelters.
Organizers need more than 150 thousand signatures to force the issue onto the ballot.
