Mayor Bartlett proposes making tax permanent to pay for public safety

TULSA (KFAQ) - Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett is proposing extending and making a tax permanent when it expires next year to help pay for public safety, including additional police and firefighters.
The mayor is proposing extending a portion of the 4 to Fix the County sales tax, currently mostly used for road repairs and other infrastructure improvements.
Under the proposal voters could be asked in November ot approve such a measure. That is the same time voters will be asked to decide the mayor's race between Bartlett and former mayor Kathy Taylor.
