OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Gov. Mary Fallin is promising continued state support as the city of Moore rebuilds from a deadly tornado that struck May 20.
Fallin joined local, state and federal officials on Wednesday for a walking tour of one of the hardest hit neighborhoods of the Oklahoma City suburb and spoke with reporters outside the destroyed Plaza Towers Elementary School. Seven children were killed in the school as they tried to take shelter from the storm.
Moore city officials say more than 40,000 tons of debris have been removed from the city.
Plaza Towers is one of two elementary schools damaged by the tornado and both have been torn down.
