OKC to open outreach office for tornado recovery
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma City plans to open a resident outreach office to help homeowners affected by the May 20 tornado with the rebuilding process.
The outreach office will open Monday in the Business Development Center at the South Penn Campus of the Moore Norman Technology Center. The Business Development Center is a stand-alone building on campus.
The office will operate Monday thru Friday and will remain open as long as necessary. City staff will provide homeowners with debris removal information, building permit and plan review guidance and general information about city services.
Homeowners and renters whose homes were damaged or destroyed should call the Oklahoma City Storm Debris Line at 297-1030 to get details about debris removal.
About 457 Oklahoma City homes were destroyed and 203 had major damage from the tornado.
