3 OKC officers injured in shootout
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Authorities say three police officers were hospitalized with minor injuries after they were hit by shrapnel during a shooting in Oklahoma City.
Police say the incident happened Monday night as gang unit officers were following a murder suspect on Northwest Expressway. Oklahoma City television station KOCO reports (http://bit.ly/15mGeV1 ) that the man opened fire when the officers tried to question him near Southeast 34th Street and Interstate 35 service road.
Police say the officers fired back but no one was hit by gunfire during the exchange.
Authorities say three officers were hit by shrapnel or glass and suffered minor injuries.
Police say the suspect was arrested and the incident remains under investigation.
