Multicounty grand jury recesses until April
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma's multicounty grand jury has recessed for the month without handing up any criminal indictments.
A report released by the grand jury says it received evidence during a three-day session that wrapped up Thursday.
The evidence included the testimony of witnesses and numerous exhibits in several different matters but the report says the time allotted did not permit the grand jury to complete its investigations.
The grand jury is to reconvene April 16 to hear additional witnesses and review more physical evidence.
The grand jury has jurisdiction to investigate criminal matters in all 77 Oklahoma counties and to assist local law enforcement as well as handling matters of state interest.
It meets monthly to hear testimony. Testimony before a grand jury is closed to the public.
