TULSA (KFAQ) - A portion of  61st street was shut down after a 48-inch water main broke.  Crews responded to the incident near 61st Street and 92nd East Avenue at about 9 a.m. Monday.

The water flooded several nearby businesses and homes and forced the closure of Mingo Valley Christian School.

Between 25 and 30 Water & Sewer Department personnel were called in and were able to isolate the break by shutting valves to the line. Water customers throughout the area were impacted by the break.

Update: City officials say they expect the road to remain closed between Memorial and Mingo until Tuesday evening.
