We have all heard the saying, if you give a man a fish he will eat for a day, but if you teach a man how to fish he will eat for life.
One young tech entrepreneur in New York City is hoping to bring that idea into the 21st century. CNN brought us the story of Patrick McConlogue, a 23-year old, self described "entrepreneur, programmer, designer, and social media strategist."
After seeing a homeless man on the street, he was inspired to transfer some of his digital skills. He made the man a simple offer, take $100 no strings attached, or a computer and the chance to learn how to code.
Critics lashed out online through social media and columns that this young techie "just didn't get it." The joke would be on them though, the homeless man he helped was eager to learn and gained friends like a Google employee along the way.
He now calls himself a software developer, already working on the next big app.
