A 17-year-old male is facing multiple charges in connection with the disappearance of the 6-year-old little girl who went missing in Washington state last week. The teenager is reportedly a neighbor in the same mobile home park where the child lived. Her body was discovered nearby a few days after she was reported missing.

At a press conference on Saturday, Kitsap County Sheriff's detective Lt. Earl Smith said, “Yesterday we made a promise to Jenise Paulette Wright that we would find justice for her. Today we have fulfilled that promise," reports the New York Daily News.

Wright was last seen going to bed on the night of Aug. 2, however her parents did not report her missing until a day later. The young girl was allowed to play alone inside of the fenced-in Steele Creek Park, and her parents claim that they thought she was outside as their reasoning behind their delay in calling for help.

According to the New York Daily News, "The suspect has not been identified because he is a minor, but he will be booked into a juvenile detention facility on charges of second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter and first-degree rape."

Wright's body was found hidden in a muddy area surrounded by thick brush in a forested field outside of the mobile home park. It remains unconfirmed whether Wright knew the suspect before her tragic death.
