Soldier dresses as Santa to surprise mom after deployment
Videos featuring military homecomings are always touching but this one has a Christmas twist. And it is a real tear jerker.
The only thing Leslie Ruggiero wanted for Christmas was to see her military son.
U.S. Army specialist Travis Ruggiero has been stationed in Afghanistan for nine months and was not supposed to be home for Christmas.
Leslie is a maternity nurse at Ocean Medical Center in Brick Township, New Jersey. Santa Claus came to visit the ward and the staff as a morale booster.
As part of the visit, Santa was supposed to give gifts to the staff. Leslie's name was called first.
She was given a card and was told to read it. She was clearly overcome with emotion while reading the special message from her son.
That wasn't all though. Her son had come home early and he was the man in the Santa Claus suit behind her.
Only two people knew about the surprise as made obvious by the gasps heard when he starts removing his hat and beard.
Check it out. This is definitely one of the sweetest military homecomings you will see.
