NORTH FT. MYERS, Fla. - Monday is trash day.
But for James Sangster, it's the worst day of the week. That's because every Monday, a big trench in his yard gets bigger and bigger.
"You can see the tire tracks over here and they keep progressing back and forth," Sangster said.
What's causing this mess? Waste Pro trucks are using Sangster's yard to turn around on Magnolia Street off Bayshore Road.
"When they pull out it drags the dirt into the road," Sangster said.
And all the recent rain has been making things worse. Sangster said he understands the dead-end street makes it hard for trucks to get in and out, but said something needs to be done.
"There's no place to turn around, understandable, but it's not the homeowners responsibility to provide any body with a place to turn around," Sangster said.
Fox 4 went to Waste Pro to help find a solution.
"How do we fix that? Simply we look at the situation and what's required to fix it and in this situation it's just laying down some gravel to refill the ruts," Waste Pro Division Manager Paul Flores said.
Flores said Waste Pro takes full responsibility and has been looking into the situation.
"It does take some time to resolve that and from there it's just a time to schedule to fix it," Flores said.
After speaking with Fox 4, Waste Pro delivered gravel to Sangster's yard. Flores said someone will be out shortly to cover the hole.
Sangster said he is fine with Waste Pro using his yard, as long as they maintain it.
"I just don't want it to be a big mud puddle," he said.
