CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Linda Bosley continues to soothe her dog, Zane as he recovers at Concierge Veterinary Hospital in Naples after she says a leashed great dane dragged his owner through the sand on Estero Beach and attacked her 70 pound dog.
Linda tells Zane, "It's alright, it's okay," as she describes what happened.
"The dog was just whipping Zane around and hurting him and Zane screaming and looking at me with just this "why?" look," said Linda.
Worry is now overcoming her and her husband knowing the great dane is out there. She says the owners haven't come forward after she rushed Zane to the hospital before it was too late.
Karen called Fox 4 shocked the dane's owner isn't offering more help.
"I am horrified that someone's dog would inflict this kind of damage and not step forward and say what can we do? It's horrendous," she said.
Linda says she wants his owner to muzzle the dane so an attack like this doesn't happen again but Jane wrote in thinking, "Animal control needs to force the owner to pay all vet bills..."
Another viewer fearing not just for other dogs but people. He asked, "Are you going to wait until it gets somebody around the throat? I'm outraged."
But "deborahanddonald" posted to Facebook, "There's two sides to every story...and you folks have already convicted the other dog."
Zane is improving but still needs more treatment.
The Bosley's say the great dane is all white with black ears and wasn't neutered.
