Tropical Depression #2 won't last long
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Tropical Depression 2 continues to look as though it will not be around for very long.
It formed Monday in the open waters of the Atlantic, and is currently about miles east of the Lesser Antilles.
It barely has sustained winds of 35 mph and continues to moving west at 16 mph. Being steered by a ridge of high pressure, the depression is forecast to continue moving to the west and weaken within the next 48 hours.
By Thursday, forecast models show the system weakening to a remnant low as it encounters stronger wind shear and drier air.
