Kenneth Roop found guilty in the shooting of meat salesman
FORT MYER, Fla - It took 2 hours and a jury has found Kenneth Roop guilty of Second Degree Murder for the shooting death of a man that happened in 2012.
Roop shot and killed meat salesman Nick Rainey in July of last year.
Roop pleaded not guilty.
According to a Cape police probable cause affidavit, the shooting happened as Rainey was leaving Roop's home after trying to sell him meat products.
Roop shot Rainey in the shoulder and then the head as he lay wounded in Roop's driveway.
Roop told police at the time that he shot Rainey in fear as he was coming toward him.
