Traffic woes on southbound Del Prado in Cape Coral
FOX 4 Staff
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - One lane of southbound Del Prado Boulevard is closed in the 2100 block due to a damaged culvert pipe. The damage has left a large opening in the road.
A city inspector noticed the hole earlier in the day. City crews arrived and found an 8-inch hole in the culvert pipe. The hole was likely created by a transportation project six months ago. That and the combination of heavy rains caused the surrounding pavement to fall apart.
Lee County's Department of Transportation is on the scene making repairs but there is no time line as to when the lane will re-open. Drivers are encouraged to use caution and be patient when traveling in this area.
