Traffic stop leads to cocaine arrest

By Andrew Murphy. CREATED Aug 29, 2014

NAPLES, Fla - A Miami man is in Collier County Jail after sheriff's deputies say they found 22 pounds of cocaine during a traffic stop.

According to deputies, Francisco Gato Jr. was stopped for having dark tinted windows.

During the stop officers determined that Gato, 62, has a history of drug offenses stemming back 30 years.

During a search of the vehicle a K-9 unit made a positive hit and led to officers to discover the cocaine in a gym bag in the rear hatch.

The cocaine is valued at $350,000.

Gato was charged with trafficking cocaine.
