Tracking the Tropics weather blog
Upper level wind shear over the Caribbean is doing its part to keep tropical waves from strengthening to tropical cyclones. Dry air drifting off the west coast of Africa is keeping much of the Atlantic quiet as well. The Bermuda high has been keeping our prevailing winds from the east which has been driving upper level disturbances across Florida and into the Gulf of Mexico. We have seen quite a bit of activity in the Gulf lately, but it has been nothing more than clusters of showers & thunderstorms.
