Cape Coral, Fla. - There is a broad area of low pressure several hundred miles southwest of the Cape Verde Islands that has shown little sign of strengthening over the past couple of days.

There may be some development of this system during the next day or so before upper-level winds become less conducive giving it a 30% chance of becoming a tropical cyclone.

There is a medium chance (40%) it becomes a tropical cyclone during the next 5 days.
