Tracking the Tropics: Watching a low
FOX 4 Storm Patrol
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - An area of low pressure located over the Yucatan Peninsula will be investigated this afternoon by the Hurricane Hunters. The Hurricane Center says this disturbance could become Tropical Storm Jerry in the next several days.
Some computer models indicate it will continue to move west, and not be a factor to the United States other than possibly some rain in southern Mexico. Other models signal an approaching cold front pick up the low and curve it toward the Big Bend of Florida either Sunday or Monday. That would give us a very soggy week next week.
We continue to follow this and will report back what the Hurricane Hunters discover this afternoon.
