Tracking the Tropics: Watching a wave
FOX 4 Storm Patrol
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - At this time there are two waves in the tropics, one in the Caribbean and the second moving off the west coast of Africa.
The wind shear and drier air over the Caribbean will work to keep the tropical wave from strengthening and developing into a tropical cyclone.
The second wave in the eastern Atlantic is in an environment of lower wind shear and surrounded by drier air.
This wave may experience some strengthening as it continues to the west, headed for the Caribbean, according to one or two long range weather models.
