Track the Tropics: Dorian's Remnants
FOX 4 Storm Patrol
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - The remnants of Dorian have reached the northern Bahamas today and there is a medium chance (40%) of strengthening to a tropical cyclone over the next 48 hours.
At this time, it does look like there will still be some influence on our weather in SWFL as the tropical moisture and energy lifts slightly to the northwest.
The rainfall potential is a bit higher; South Florida may receive as much as 3 inches of rain.
A large amount of dry, dusty Saharan air is still located over the eastern Atlantic, this is going help keep much of the open waters quiet over the next several days.
Our attention will be focused on possible development over the Gulf of Mexico next week; the good news is that the winds will be easterly which will push any activity to the western Gulf away from SWFL.
