CREATED Aug. 31, 2013

LABELLE, Fla. - A LaBelle man is facing drug charges following a mail delivery Friday afternoon.

A Hendry County Sheriff's narcotics investigator posed as a parcel delivery man to drop off a package containing marijuana to a residence in the 600 block of Caloosa Estates Drive.

The narcotics units then waited until they say a white Jeep driven by 24-year-old David Ramirez, Jr. pull into the driveway of the home.  They watched Ramirez pick up the package and take it inside.

Investigators then descended on the home and arrested Ramirez.

They found approximately 17 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $17,000 inside a red duffle bag.

Ramirez is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of marijuana over 20 grams.  He is being held without bond.
