PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Charlotte County detectives arrested a 29-year-old Port Charlotte woman early Tuesday morning for making a false robbery report.
Monday night Sara Elizabeth Grob called deputies to say she had been robbed. Grob told deputies a black car had pulled up to her as she was walking along Harborview Road.
She claimed a man got out of the car and demanded her wallet, which she gave to him, before pepper spraying him. The man then fled.
Detectives found several inconsistencies in Grob's accounts of the crime and determined no crime had taken place.
Grob was charged with filing a false police report and transported to the Charlotte County Jail where she is being held on a $3,500 bond.
