OWINGSVILLE, KY – Police in Kentucky have arrested a 42-year-old man in connection with the 1999 homicide of 4-year-old Pilar Rodriguez in Punta Gorda.
The Charlotte County Sheriff announced that Keith Wilson was taken into custody without incident after a warrant was issued Tuesday morning.
Circuit Judge Amy Hawthorne issued the warrant after accepting a plea deal from Melissa Harding-Jones on the charge of accessory after the fact.
Wilson has been charged with first degree murder and is expected to be extraditcted to Florida.
Rodriguez was last seen with Harding-Jones and then boyfriend Wilson, in February of 1999.
Marco Rodriguez, the girl’s father, filed a missing persons report and early leads indicated that Pilar’s disappearance may have been the result of foul play.
Detectives working on the cold case reviewed evidence and conducted additional interviews that led to the arrest of Harding-Jones in 2010.
