Pedestrian hit and killed on I-75 near North Port
NORTH PORT, Fla. -- A St. Petersburg man was killed late Saturday when he was struck by a car on I-75 near North Port.
The Florida Highway Patrol says a driver heading southbound on I-75 near the Toledo Blade exit struck a man standing in the right lane. Investigators believe the driver did not have any warning to avoid hitting the man.
The pedestrian was identified as Tyron Rubino, 33, of St. Petersburg. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver stopped immediately after hitting Rubino and is not expected to face charges.
