Panther death on I-75

CREATED Aug. 19, 2013

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. - The remains of a three-year-old uncollared female panther were found on Alligator Alley in Collier County not far from the toll plaza.

The FWC says the carcass was found near mile marker 93 (at the Miller Canal Bridge) where it had been struck by a vehicle.

This marks the 12th panther road kill for 2013 out of 15 panther deaths for the year.

The FWC wants to remind drivers to be cautious around dawn and dusk when driving near animal crossings.
