No one injured in Cape Coral house fire

CREATED Aug. 3, 2013 - UPDATED: Aug. 3, 2013

CAPE CORAL, Fla. - A Cape Coral home goes up in flames Saturday afternoon while the owners were out of town on vacation.

The home, which is on SE 20th Court, caught fire just before 3 p.m.

Cape Coral fire officials say flames were already through the roof by the time they got on the scene. The good news is, no one was injured, but it looks like the home is a total loss.

"There are some valuables that will be salvageable, but for the most part the dry wall is gone, all the ceilings because we had to put the fire out in the attic, most likely it will have to be gutted," Battalion Chief John Hauff said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
