BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. - A television news microwave truck heading south on I-75 crashed around 5 a.m. near MM 112 just before the Immokalee Road exit.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the back driver's side tire on the WINK news truck popped and shredded. That caused the driver to lose control of the van and it rolled over one time.
The photographer and the reporter riding in the van were both taken to the hospital with minor injuries and both have since been released.
The FHP is not sure what caused the tire to shred but said the tires looked fairly new. The crash snarled traffic for more than two hours.
