New tropical storm may be forming over Yucatan

CAPE CORAL - Our newest tropical system may be forming over the Yucatan over the next few days and it might be something for Southwest Florida to watch next week as it could help to bring some heavy rains our way.
If it does become a Tropical Storm, it will be Tropical Storm Jerry.
In the short term, the system will again stir up the western Gulf of Mexico, and surf could become dangerous by this weekend along the coasts of Texas and Louisiana.
The concern for Florida is a cold front that will be digging into the Southeast portion of the country, and that could help turn the remnants of Jerry back east and toward Florida.
The biggest concern would be some flooding rains, as much of Southwest Florida is already saturated.
