New plea to help find suspect in old Cape Coral theft case

CAPE CORAL , Fla. - Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking the public to help identify a heavyset man who held up a Cape Coral convenience store nearly two years ago.

The thief walked away with a carton of cigarettes and a pocketful of cash.  The crime happened shortly before 6 a.m. on Friday, September 30, 2011.

Despite all the time that's passed, law enforcement still wants to find the man, who is between 40 and 50 years of age.  He stood about 6' and has a scar on the right side of his lip.

The crime happened at the Circle K at 3704 Skyline Boulevard.

Anyone with information on the identity of the unknown armed robber should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).  All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
