NAPLES, Fla. - A 35-year-old Naples man is charged with animal cruelty and criminal mischief after a deputy found a dog under a bleach-soaked blanket Thursday night.
A deputy responded to a call about an argument in the 3100 block of 50th Street SW and encountered an overpowering smell of bleach. When the deputy entered the residence he found the dog under the blanket and a 50-pound bag of dog food spilled on the floor, also covered in bleach.
The deputy questioned Lester Forrest about the dog and he claimed that he covered the animal with the blanket because it was cold. Forrest said he had been using bleach in the house to kill black mold on the walls.
