FORT MYERS, Fla.- Clearing the air at Fort Myers city hall!
A councilman meets face to face with the police chief and city manager over concerns about the way the police department is run.
The meeting only lasted about an hour, yet Chief Doug Baker did not want to talk and quickly left the building.
Councilman Streets however seemed to be pleased.
But what was said exactly at this meeting on the top floor Fort Myers city hall remains a mystery.
Streets did say that they "had a great productive meeting and the city manager will prepare a report for the rest of the council and the mayor. Basically it was very positive"
In his memo street stated that there "was a deficit of effective leadership and supervision with in the police department."
He also voiced concern for "low morale" and inexperienced supervisors.
Streets would not elaborate on the leadership style talked about in his memo but did say the city manager will have something shortly for the media.
The councilman added that "I'm not trying to do anything but bring people together and solve some issues in Fort Myers, which I think we are doing. Again I would say it was very positive. but she was receptive and I was receptive to what he had to say. and it was a good discussion."
