MARCO ISLAND, Fla. - A Marco Island teen is charged with felony hit and run in connection with a crash on Sunday.
The Florida Highway Patrol arrested 19-year-old Alexandria Joy Curcie for a crash on U.S. 41 East. The driver of a minivan says a BMW rear-ended her car. The driver caught the license plate of the BMW as it left the scene.
The driver says one of her four children in the minivan needed treatment for neck and back injuries at a Collier hospital.
FHP troopers tracked the plates to Curcie's mother and found the two at their Marco Island home. The suspect first told troopers a friend had borrowed the car and later admitted it was sitting parked in the backyard.
She faces charges of failing to stop and remain at the scene of a crash involving injuries, a third-degree felony charge.
