PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - An unidentified man stole two computer monitors Sunday night from the Murdock area WalMart.
Detectives are trying to identify the suspect who left the store after 11 p.m. by exiting a normally-closed general merchandise side of the store located at 19100 Murdock Circle in Port Charlotte. The man was pulling a shopping cart containing what was initially thought to have been televisions.
During the investigation, it was learned the items in the cart were actually two computer monitors valued at a total of more than $1,000.
The man walked passed all points of sale without paying for the monitors. He is described as being about 6 ft. tall with curly brown hair and a goatee. He was wearing a black T-shirt and black shorts. After he exited the store, the witnesses saw him get into a dark colored 4-door sedan, possibly a Nissan. Someone else was driving the vehicle and there may have been two other people in the car.
Anyone with information about the identity of the man or the vehicle involved in this incident is asked to please call the Sheriff’s Office at (941) 639-2101 (ask for District Detectives), or Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
