Man burned in Port Charlotte boat fire

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Charlotte County Fire and EMS fought a boat fire Wednesday morning that left one man with serious burns.
The call came in about 11:30 a.m. from the 22000 block of Oneida Avenue in Port Charlotte.
Firefighters arrived to find a 20 foot boat engulfed in flames. A large bus sitting next to the boat also caught fire.
Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the blaze and to protect a nearby home and trees.
One man, believed to be in his 50's, was seriously injured and transported to Tampa General Hospital with burns to his face, hands and arms. He may have also suffered respiratory burns.
