NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - Lee County Sheriff's investigators are looking into a North Fort Myers home burglary where nine guns were stolen.

Deputies were called to the home Monday night.  The victim says that a woman had come to his home asking if he had any vehicles for sale.  While he was suspicious of her request, he took her to the rear of his property to show the woman a vehicle.

The woman kept him occupied for several minutes and then she received a text on her cell phone.  She said that her mother had suffered a stroke and that she needed to leave immediately.

The victim then returned to inside his home where he found that someone had found and opened a gun safe in his bedroom and stolen another gun safe from the kitchen.

In all the thieves made off with a number of handguns, rifles, a shotgun, ammo, prescription drugs and money.  The total loss is about $20,000.

The woman is described as white, about 5"7", and was wearing a black and white shirt with a black skirt.  Two neighbors saw the woman running down the street and one saw a dark blue mini-van in the victim's driveway.
