Gov. Rick Scott reacts to Tammy Hall resignation and wire fraud charge
LEE COUNTY, Fla.- It is now up to Governor Rick Scott to select a replacement to fill Tammy Hall's Lee County Commission seat. On Thursday, Hall plead guilty to a wire fraud charge. Hall admitted to embezzling more than $30,000 in campaign funds.
While Hall awaits her sentencing that could put her in federal prison for up to twenty years, Governor Rick Scott spoke out about her misuse of her donor's money.
"I think we all expect all elected officials to do the right thing to live up to the highest standards." Scott said.
Governor Scott said he is now working to fill that position. He didn't speak of any front runners but said he wants to take the time and make sure whoever takes over will not make Tammy Hall's mistakes.
