Gas prices tumble in Florida
TAMPA, Fla. - Gas prices are sliding down as we head into the tail end of the summer driving season.
AAA says you will find gasoline at its cheapest levels in four years for August. The national average is $3.50, 3 cents cheaper than last week.
The average price in the state of Florida for a gallon of regular unleaded stands at $3.41, down 5 cents in a week and 16 cents cheaper than it was a year ago.
"Typically gasoline prices fluctuate in July and August, but for the most part, prices have steadily declined," said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA - The Auto Club Group. "Oil prices decreased dramatically this week, so there's no reason gas prices should go up any time soon."
