FORT MYERS, Fla. - Fort Myers police arrested a 33-year-old Fort Myers man charging him in two recent bank robberies.
Keith Jones is charged with robbing the Monday September 23 robbery of at the Fifth Third Bank located at 1701 Boy Scout Drive and the August 6 robbery of the Bank of America at 1511 Matthew Drive.
Police received information that Jones closely resembled the suspect featured in the surveillance footage. The information coincided with that brought forth by an FMPD officer who also recognized the suspect as a probationer. FMPD Detectives obtained a search warrant for Jones’s residence and located items linking him to the Fifth Third robbery.
Detectives questioned Jones and he confessed to the Fifth Third Bank robbery. In addition, Jones confessed to the August 6 robbery of the Bank of America located at 1511 Matthew Drive.
Police have solved four bank robberies in the last month.
