Missing Fort Myers child found safe
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Fort Myers Police confirming 7-year old Crystal Riemer has been found safe, and have cancelled an Amber Alert.
Tuesday afternoon Fort Myers Police responded to Lutheran Services located on Ford Street in reference to a call about an abduction of a child.
Upon arrival police learned that Christine Riemer was at the facility for a court ordered supervised visit with her daughter, who has special needs.
During the visitation Reimer grabbed her daughter and fled out the back door.
The Children's Network of SWFL says she was recovered by the Department of Agricluture in Hamilton County, Florida just south of the Georgia state line.
Crystal was found with her biological mother.
In a release, he director of communications for the Children's Network of SWFL says:
"DCF in Hamilton County was notified and as we speak our very own Lutheran Services Child Welfare Case Manager and the Foster Parent are meeting the DCF investigator halfway across the state to brig[sic] her home tonight to SAFE."
