LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. - A Lehigh Acres man is facing charges for beating up his housemate when she refused to give him money to make a music video.
The woman told Lee County Sheriff's detective that 22-year-old Bronson Eugene Layton had broken her arm in late August in an earlier dispute but she feared going to law enforcement.
The latest dust up happened on Thursday September 5 when the victim refused to give Layton money for a music video he wanted to make.
The victim says Layton began beating her in the bathroom, stomping on her repeatedly until she passed out. He then drove her to an uncle's home where she managed to lock Layton out of the house. Her uncle then took her to the hospital.
The victim suffered a lacerated liver, fractured vertebrae and multiple bruises to go along with the broken arm she had already suffered.
Detectives picked up Layton the following day at a house in the 2200 block of Highland Avenue South where he lived with the victim.
He's charged with aggravated battery with great bodily harm.
