Collier jailer arrested

NAPLES, Fla. - A deputy working at the Collier County jail was fired after his arrest on felony charges.
Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk announced Monday night the firing of 48-year-old Corporal James Brooks after he was charged with dealing in stolen property, conpiracy to commit grand theft and trafficking an opiate or derivate.
An inmate told another deputy that Brooks had approached him about getting a high-end laptop once he was out of jail and selling it to Brooks for half its retail value.
An investigation determined that Brooks had made a deal with the inmate and knew the inmate planned to steal a laptop upon his release and sell it to Brooks.
The deal went down on Monday and that's when Brooks was arrested.
