NAPLES, Fla.- The Collier County Commission is meeting today to discuss whether or not to move forward with the already approved 9.5 million dollar beach renurishment project in Naples.
Nearly 400 trucks would be hauling sand from Lee County to Collier County. Now Lee County Officials say the plan is too dangerous for our Southwest Florida roadways.
The project calls for the trucks to take Corkscrew Road to I-75. The Lee County Manger says there have already been two accidents in the last 18 months because of the trucks.
Collier Commissioners will discuss whether to change the route taken by the sand trucks, which would make the project more expensive.
