Cape traffic stop leads to meth arrests

CREATED Feb. 4, 2014

CAPE CORAL, Fla. - A traffic stop for a seatbelt violation led to a meth bust early Tuesday morning.

A Cape Coral police officer made the stop in the 200 block of Del Pardo Boulevard South at 1:30 a.m. after he noticed the driver of a car wasn't wearing his seatbelt.

The stop showed that the driver, 42-year-old Billy Jo Snowden of Cape Coral, was driving on an expired license.  Snowden then consented to a search of his vehicle

That search led to the discovery of a small baggie of methamphetamine in the wallet of the passenger, 41-year-old Jamie Woodward of Sarasota.  Investigators also found chemicals and materials commonly used to make meth.

Woodward also had a prescription pill on herself which she had no prescription for.

Snowden is charged with producing meth and Woodward faces the same charge along with a meth possession charge and possessing a controlled substance without a prescription.
