Cape man arrested with guns at school, arrested 2nd time
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - A Cape Coral man arrested Monday afternoon on the school grounds of Oasis Charter School for having guns in his car, was arrested a second time after getting out of the Lee County Jail shortly after midnight.
39-year-old Kenneth A. Pearson was initially arrested at the school when police become aware of an ongoing dispute with his estranged wife who works at the school.
When officers found Pearson on the school grounds he told them that he had just dropped off the couples' son for school, even though it was the last period of the school day.
Officers asked Pearson if he had any weapons and he admitted to have two guns in his vehicle, an unloaded .38 revolver and a fully loaded 9mm semi-automatic pistol in his vehicle. Pearson was arrested for possession of a firearm on school grounds and taken to jail.
While Pearson was in jail he was served with a no-contact order which prohibits contact with his estranged wife.
Pearson was released from jail shortly after midnight and began sending text messages to his wife.
