FORT MYERS, Fla. - Cape Air announced Friday that it will end all air service in Florida effective November 5th.
Currently, Cape Air offers two flights daily from Fort Myers through Southwest Florida International Airport to Key West.
Cape Air has provided air service in Florida for 20 years
A spokeswoman with Cape Air told FOX 4 the decision to stop service was a difficult one. She said that operational costs were a major factor in the decision to end service.
Competition from other carriers also made the business climate more difficult.
Cape Air plans to relocate most of its employees.
