BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. - A loss of parking lot patience led to a showdown between two drivers at a Bonita Springs Publix last Friday.
The victim told a Lee County deputy that he was waiting for traffic to clear in his pickup at the Publix on South Tamiami Trail when another driver started honking at him. He told the deputy that he initially got out of his truck and approached the gold Lexus honking at him but neither the driver or passenger would roll down their windows.
He returned to his truck and a short time later, the woman driver, later identified as 61year-old Eileen Nemeroff of Bonita Springs, approached his truck. The victim says he rolled down his window and Nemeroff let loose with a profanity and slapped him. Two witnesses backed up his story to the deputy.
The victim took the car's license plate and contacted law enforcement. Deputies caught up to Nemeroff and her husband at their home. Nemeroff refused to talk without her attorney. Her husband told a detective she never hit the victim.
Nemeroff was arrested for burglary with an assault of battery.
