Bicyclist in Port Charlotte crash, cited for DUI

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - The Florida Highway Patrol says a bicyclist was cited for DUI after getting involved in a crash Friday night at U.S. 41 and Easy Street in Port Charlotte.
The FHP says 51-year-old Mickey Lee Hauri of Port Charlotte was riding his bike west on Easy Street approaching U.S. 41. Hauri rode his bike into the path of a Dodge Van driven by 78-year-old Joryn Easton Schmitz of Port Charlotte.
The van hit the right side of Hauri's bike throwing him to the ground. Hauri was taken to Lee Memorial with minor injuries.
Hauri was arrested and charged with DUI and cited for failure to yield and failure to use a light on his bike.
